For one night only, worlds collide as Zap Mama and Fertile Ground share a stellar bill at the 9:30 Club. The Congolese chanteuse known as Zap Mama has been performing her mix of Afrobeat, jazz, and funk for close to two decades, inspiring and collaborating with the likes of Erykah Badu, the Roots, and Common. The Afropean dynamic of Zap Mama's Belgium based outfit is musically akin to Baltimore's sextet Fertile Ground, who will spark the night off with their jazz-based mix of reggae, Afro-beat, and soul. Since each act has a fierce show, the alignment of Zap Mama and Fertile Ground only promises to ignite!!!

unveil cuts from his new disc The Popular Machine. With his
surefire band in tow, Van Hunt will bring an intense performance
unheralded by many of his contemporaries. Doors open for this Early
