(1/12)RAHEEM DEVAUGHN , FERTILE GROUND & ANTHONY DAVID @ 9:30 CLUB!!!

As Raheem DeVaughn and Fertile Ground begin to record their new releases for 2007, this show sets up moments for them to unveil new material. Raheem's mixtape, "Street Experience Volume 5" heralds the title of his new disc ("Love Behind the Music"), as well as future ballads and club bangers. Meanwhile Fertile Ground's remix collaboration with jazz great Chico Hamilton has yielded the sublime Latin groove of "Simple, Timeless." The Baltimore sextet of Fertile Ground formed as a trio in 1997 and is celebrating 10 years of electrifying audiences with their signature style of jazz/world/soul.

In addition to the promise of new music by the show's headliners, this stellar night will be sparked off by the wanderlust of Atlanta's Anthony David. Since September, Anthony David has been touring the globe promoting his sophmore disc, "The Red Clay Chronicles," headlining solo dates and opening up for India.Arie. Look out for the
video for his new single, which is a cover of Level 42's "Something About You". In the meantime, check out Anthony's dope show, whose vocals resonates reminicent of Bill Withers and Donny Hathaway.

(1/5) The Tryptic: featuring PJ MORTON, JENEE' and JUSTABAND @ Black Cat!

This Friday is a night of new beginnings as three acts debut at the Black Cat's mainstage. Each featured artist is guilty of association -- the New Orleans headliner PJ Morton has been hailed by Anthony Hamilton as his favorite new artist; the Maryland soulsinga Jenee' has been touring as a background vocalist for Omar; and DC's all-star unit Justaband has backed Raheem DeVaughn as well as Ledisi for her recent sold-out engagements at Blues Alley and the Birchmere.

Musically speaking, this evening's lineup is infused with funk and soul, as PJ Morton links the melodic musings of the Beatles and Stevie Wonder; Jenee's music combines the grooves of Mother's Finest and the Brand New Heavies; and Justaband blends the vibe of the Roots and Mint Condition.

This Friday check out these three live hot acts for the price of a movie ticket and popcorn!
